DC Middle Schooler Shanessa Densmore featured on Fishing the Midwest TV show!

DC Middle Schooler Shanessa Densmore was featured in a recent Fishing the Midwest TV episode with Mike Frisch.

Mike Frisch has nearly three decades of experience as a western Minnesota fishing guide and has an impressive resume as a tournament angler with wins and high finishes in walleye and bass tournaments across the Midwest. In 2013, Frisch helped launch the Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's School of Fish, which quickly became one of the country's leading fishing education programs, specializing in teaching kids and other beginners to fish.

The School of Fish program is offered to students grade 3 and up across the state.  Community Ed. has offered the program the past few years giving students the opportunity to learn about lakes, finding fish in those lakes and some great ways to catch them.

Each year a single student name is drawn from a pool of all the students who took a School of Fish class that season.  Shanessa was the lucky winner this year!  She traveled to Alexandria for a day of bass fishing with Mike Frisch.  Fishing the Midwest airs on Saturdays at 11:00am on Fox Sports Net North.

If you know of a student who might be interested in the School of Fish program, stay tuned - another session will be offered through Community Ed. in May of 2020.
