STRIVE Banquet - April 17th

On Wednesday, April 17, 2024, the STRIVE Cokato Dassel Rotary Club hosted its annual end-of-year banquet at the Dassel History Center. Those in attendance were fed a meal hosted by the Cokato Dassel Rotary Club, prepared by Elbows Allowed, listened to student speeches and an honorary guest speaker, Kay Wilson, interim DCHS Activities Director. 6 scholarships were awarded to Braylon Loeschen, Landon Selseth, Faith McNair, Yazmyn Butcher, Alex Densmore, and Isabelle Densmore.

STRIVE - Students Taking a Renewed Interest in the Value of Education.  STRIVE is a motivational program offered to selected seniors and sponsored by the Cokato-Dassel Rotary Club.  STRIVE is designed to assist students in improving their grades at school and focusing their thoughts regarding post-secondary plans.  Students who agree to participate in the program meet with Rotary members for a monthly lunch meeting where various topics are addressed.  Students who show the most academic improvement and personal growth during the year are recognized and rewarded with scholarships and community recognition.

This program provides a fantastic opportunity to meet monthly with members of local businesses and other professionals, receive support and encouragement for academic work, and potentially qualify for scholarship money to be used at the post-secondary institution or towards the student's career choice.
