"Kenzie is only 1 of 2 girls to make the team from a smaller rural school.  She is also our first girl from DC to be named to the team."  Head Coach Justin Larson shared.

He went on to explain, "She NORMALLY would be joining the team and they would perform at state, but due to COVID, that's not happening this year.  In a normal year, she would be invited to an awards banquet, and receive a medal for the honor."

Kenzie has participated in Dassel-Cokato Cheerleading for about two years, before that she was active in dance for about five years and gymnastics when she was younger.  "Making this team means all my hard work and dedication has paid off,"  she said.  " If you are thinking about joining cheer, I would say go for it. Cheer opens up many different things like a second family, weightlifting, staying fit, having fun, and just learning new responsibilities that may help you when you're older."

Congratulations Kenzie!  We look forward to watching you throughout your career with Dassel-Cokato Cheerleading and beyond!
